Prior to arrival

 

We ask our visitors to give us 24 hours' notice of their estimated time of arrival.

 

Arrival


On arrival, visitors should park in front of our garage on a gravel drive. The front door to our Cottage is down a few steps.

 

The Lodge is a very short walk from the drive, through our garden on a paved path. There is a step up to the pink paved path and a second step immediately in front of the Lodge window. There is an outside light with a sensor that turns it on when it senses movement at night time and an outside light at the front door.

 

The front door opens outwards and the doorway leads into a carpeted well, with a step up to the carpeted bedsitting room. This is the main room of The Lodge, providing :

  • 2 single 3 foot beds
  • wardrobe with cupboard and 2 drawers under
  • upholstered two-seater sofa
  • drop leaf table and 2 wooden chairs with tie-on cushion pads
  • shared bedside table with alarm clock/radio
  • shared bedside rug
  • colour TV
  • Stereo radio/cd player with separate speakers
  • supply of books and information on local attractions and places of interest.
  • Visitors book.
  • wall lights plus a light over each bed.
  • emergency contact details (doctor etc) posted on wall
  • fire drill procedure
  • electric heater

This room leads to an area, which comprises -

  • single drainer sink with water heater
  • double mirror with shelf space
  • low level cupboard with tiled surface
  • shower cubicle with step up into shower tray
  • kitchen clock
  • laminated floor

This room gives access to, firstly, the kitchen, which comprises

  • laminated floor
  • breakfast bar with 2 stools
  • oven
  • fridge
  • microwave
  • floor and wall cupboards
  • full complement of cutlery, crockery and glassware
  • fire extinguisher, fire blanket
  • ironing board (movable)

Also, secondly, access to WC, which comprises

  • white WC
  • white handbasin and water heater, with mirror and shelf above
  • towel rail

Outside on the small decking area, there is a circular tiled table and 4 chairs. The Lodge overlooks our garden and visitors are welcome to sit on the grass, in front of the decked area, if they wish.

 

External power socket available by garage doors.

 

The Lodge is No Smoking and, sorry, we cannot accommodate pets (except assistance dogs).
